Who we are: RESQ TYRES & RECOVERY LTD, trading as ResQ Tyres & Recovery. Registered in England and Wales, company number 16702233. Registered office: Unit 8a Lavender Walk, Leeds LS9 8JB.
Contact about your data: resqtyresrecovery@gmail.com or 07438 562633.
This notice explains what we do with the details you give us when you call, message us or send the home-fitting form on www.resqtyres.co.uk, what this website collects, and your rights. We are the "controller" of your personal data under UK data protection law.
What we collect, and why
- When you call or WhatsApp us: your phone number and what you tell us, such as where the car is, the vehicle and the tyre size. We use it to give you a price, come out and do the job.
- When you send the home-fitting form: your name, phone number, tyre size or registration, and the price range if you used the price guide. We use it to call you back with a price and arrange the fitting.
- When you pay: you pay when the job is done, by card or cash. Card payments go through a card payment provider; we never see or keep your full card number.
- When you use this website: how the site is used, and whether a visit came from one of our Google ads. See "Cookies and website measurement" below.
We use your details to do the job you asked for, or to take steps you asked for before it (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). We keep job records because the law requires us to (Article 6(1)(c)), and we measure how the website and our ads perform because we have a legitimate interest in running the business well (Article 6(1)(f)). We don't sell your details, we don't send marketing, and we make no decisions about you by automated means.
Cookies and website measurement
The site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. They show us which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, which device and browser they use, how they found the site, and when someone taps a call or WhatsApp button or sends the form. When you arrive from one of our Google ads, Google may show you a different phone number that forwards to ours, so that we can count calls from ads. Google records the time, length and area code of those calls, not what is said.
These are the cookies and stored items involved. They are set when the page loads:
| Name | Set by | What it's for | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_GVBR7Z973Z | Google Analytics | Tells one visit from another, so visits can be counted | Up to 400 days |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Links a visit to our ads | 90 days |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads | Records that you arrived from one of our ads (only then) | 90 days |
Call-tracking number, _gcl_ls | Google Ads, stored in your browser | Keeps the forwarding number steady during your visit | Up to 90 days |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them. You can also turn off Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on, and manage Google ad personalisation at My Ad Centre.
Who we share it with
We use these services to run the business. Each one handles your details only as its service needs:
- Web3Forms delivers the home-fitting form to our email.
- Google provides our email (Gmail), Google Analytics and Google Ads.
- Vercel hosts this website and keeps short-lived technical logs.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries your messages if you choose to message us there, under its own privacy terms.
- Our phone network and our card payment provider.
Some of these services store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We only share your details otherwise if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- An enquiry that doesn't lead to a job is deleted within 12 months of our last contact.
- Records of jobs we have done, with the invoice or receipt details, are kept for 6 years after the end of that financial year, because tax law requires it.
- Google Analytics keeps website data for up to 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or object to how we use it. You can also ask for data you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere. To do any of these, contact us using the details at the top of this page. We'll reply within one month, and there is normally no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we have used your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
